About Me
The Story Behind Daughter of the Sea
Creativity has always been a part of my life. My journey began as a little girl, watching my maternal grandmother create endless beautiful things with her hands—intricate beaded pieces, wreaths, and cozy blankets. My mother was equally as creative; everything she touched turned to gold. As a teenager, my sister and I launched a small beaded wrap bracelet business, selling to local boutiques. Some of my favorite memories are the trips my mother and I would take to New York City’s bead district, searching for treasures and inspiration.
Later, I worked in the fashion industry with luxury houses such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Zegna Sport, and Etro. After having my third child, I chose to step back and focus on raising my family. Over the years, we moved from New York City to Connecticut, then Vermont during COVID, before finally finding our home in South Florida.
No matter where we lived, one thing remained constant: the need to create. I’ve always known that I wanted and needed to make things with my hands—and now, I’m finally able to do it full time. Together with my children, we explored every kind of craft—painting, resin, macramé, fruit printing, clay, and beading. I also carried with me a collection of vintage silks and cashmeres I had saved for years. Eventually, I began decoupaging seashells with those fabrics, which led to selling my pieces in my best friend’s boutique in Aruba. From there, I added keychains, opened an Etsy shop, and discovered a true joy in building a creative business.
Daughter of the Sea is the next chapter in that story—a place where my love for handmade artistry meets my passion for color, texture, and storytelling. Each piece is one of a kind, thoughtfully made, and infused with a little piece of my journey as a creator.
With the support of my loving family, I’m beyond grateful to launch this website and share my creations with you. I hope these pieces bring beauty, joy, and a personal touch to your life—because each one carries a bit of mine.
